Grace Otley is an eighteen-year-old Freshman Honors student at the University of Delaware, majoring in Communications and French, and a lead singer for their premier a cappella group, Vocal Point. Born in South Vietnam, Grace was adopted by her American family at the age of one and has grown leaps and bounds in many endeavors, excelling in both school and her personal life. She is an outstanding musician known throughout the mid-Atlantic region for her dynamic performances with her unique style that incorporates a wide range of vocal abilities combined with a blending of her electric violin, and performs at weddings, private parties and special events.
Grace holds the titles of The Distinguished Young Woman of Delaware for 2017, the Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen for Miss America for 2014, and is a recipient of the prestigious Coca Cola Scholar Award. Community outreach and service is an integral part of Grace’s artistic commitment. As part of her platform for the Miss America Organization, Grace performs and uses music therapy for Alzheimer’s patients in nursing homes throughout the area. She also teaches piano and violin to young students, and mentors contestants for the Miss Delaware Organization. Having had callbacks for America’s Got Talent, American Idol, and The Voice, Grace Otley hopes for possible exciting endeavors in the future.
